Jane was born in North Yorkshire. As a child she discovered a  great love of painting outdoors. A love of walking amongst inspiring high fell and mountain scenery led her to paint what she really loved, capturing dramatic light conditions on lakes, mountain ridges and tarns, especially in winter moods.

Moving to Keswick was a dream come true. Seeing Lakeland scenery everyday in different lights, moods and seasons has been inspiring.

Jane is self-taught and paints mostly in pastels, oils and watercolours. Painting in moods of the ever- changing landscape.

She spends much of her painting time in the Lake District, Scottish Highlands, Snowdonia and the Italian and French Alps.

Jane set up Lakeland Art Courses, locating her painting holidays in Keswick, Grasmere and the Italian Lakes.
