Jim left the heavy industry of Teesside several years ago when he moved to Cumbria to work as a professional artist.

A self-taught artist with no formal training, Jim has always loved Victorian  watercolours.

His studio pictures are the result of conjuring up memories of past walks, by allowing initial atmospheric washes  to suggest ideas.

Jim always enjoys responding to a subject directly with the brush. The results are two distinctly different styles of work.
