John Burrows was born in Hertfordshire in 1940. After an education in Wales, Ireland and England he trained at the Berkshire College of Art and the Central School of Art and Design in London.

John worked as a jewellery designer for 10 years, creating ideas for many British and swiss companies, followed by 16 years of teaching Graphic communication and Design before retiring in 1991 and concentrating on painting.

Working in pastel, pen and ink and watercolour in addition to his original paintings he has produced a range of limited edition prints of British mountain scenery.

John now lives in Blaenau Ffestiniog, in Snowdonia and sells his work through selected galleries in North Wales and Cumbria.
